#RightsRule — website and game chatbot for teenagers

Background

Research among children and teenagers aged 9–18 showed that young people want to be treated as equals, yet often struggle to recognise when their rights are being violated or how to respond.

The project was commissioned by Change Communications. UAMASTER joined as a technology subcontractor responsible for the website and chatbot.

Turn complex legal guidance into a website and chatbot that teenagers would actually want to use.

The experience had to feel clear and conversational without losing legal accuracy.

Legal information is easier to remember when it is connected to a choice and its consequences.

Instead of asking teenagers to read rules, we let them safely experience familiar situations.

Each story works as an interactive conversation: the player enters a situation, chooses how to act and sees what follows.

The chatbot then explains the appropriate response and where to seek help.

The website is a clear entry point: it introduces the project, shows how the game works and leads users directly to the chatbot.

Its structure keeps the path from the first visit to the first scenario short.

The chatbot turned each scenario into a guided conversation: users made a choice, observed the consequences and received practical guidance.

One product logic connected the experience across all supported platforms.

Scenarios

Bullying at school, an incorrect price at checkout or being asked to pay for an accidentally damaged product: every story came from a situation teenagers could recognise.

We translated expert materials into natural dialogue, meaningful choices and concise explanations.

UAMASTER designed the chatbot logic, branching scenarios and copy, then programmed and tested the product across messengers.

We also developed the website that brings every entry point together.

Three messaging platforms

The chatbot was available in Telegram, Viber and Facebook Messenger, so teenagers could choose the platform they already used.

28,640 participants took part in the project during its first six months. Participation peaked among 14- and 15-year-olds, while participants aged 12–17 formed the core audience.

Result

The result is an educational product that does more than describe rights: it lets teenagers practise defending them. The website, chatbot and expert guidance work as one coherent experience.

The launch was covered by CASES, the Educational Ombudsman Service, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Hromadskyi Prostir, and other news outlets.

The coverage highlighted a practical way to help teenagers understand and exercise their rights.
